I am an Associate Professor at the Center for Social and Affective Neuroscience in Linköping, Sweden. My research explores how the brain, the body, and our social relationships shape human experience, mental health, and well-being. I am particularly interested in the nature of the self, social connection, embodiment, and the mechanisms through which our interactions with others influence how we think, feel, and perceive ourselves.
My work combines methods from neuroscience, psychology, and psychiatry, including behavioral experiments, neuroimaging, psychophysiology, ecological assessments, and clinical interventions. Together with collaborators across Europe and beyond, I study topics ranging from social touch and interpersonal synchrony to psychedelics, neuroplasticity, development, and mental health.
I studied at the Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg and the Max Planck research school in Tübingen. For my PhD at the psychiatry department of Charité Berlin, I received the For Women in Science Award. I worked as a Postdoc at Charité and Humboldt University, Berlin, and at CSAN, Linköping.
