About me

I am an Associate Professor at the Center for Social and Affective Neuroscience in Linköping, Sweden, where I study social interaction, interoception and the self. I am interested in how we establish a bodily self, how we connect with each other, and what happens to the self in psychiatric conditions. My research employs behavioral measures, functional brain imaging, and psychedelic interventions.

My research is funded by grants from the European Research Council, Vetenskapsrådet, Svenska Läkaresällskapet, Åke Wiberg Stiftelse, ALF and FORSS grants (Region Östergötland), and Lions Forskningsfond.  More on my lab’s page: The Boehme Lab.

I studied at the Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg and the Max Planck research school in Tübingen. For my PhD at the psychiatry department of Charité Berlin, I received the For Women in Science Award. I worked as a Postdoc at Charité and Humboldt University, Berlin, and at CSAN, Linköping.
